A property valuation assistant producing bank-ready reports
A tool for professional valuers: capture a case, record the research, let the system compute the values, and generate a bank-ready report for review and signature — replacing a desktop script.
Client: Sudeep Associates · Status: live
The challenge
Valuation work was running on a single-user desktop script. Cases could not be shared, research was re-keyed, calculations were repeated by hand, and report formatting consumed time that should have gone into the valuation itself.
What we built
We rebuilt it as a proper application — FastAPI with PostgreSQL and versioned migrations behind a React and TypeScript front end — deployed on the client’s own infrastructure. Valuers capture the case once, the system derives the values, and the report is generated in the format banks expect.
Engineering highlights
- Deployed on-premise at the client on Ubuntu with Nginx and systemd, because valuation case data stays in-house.
- Alembic migrations, so the schema evolves without manual database surgery.
- Report generation in the format receiving banks require, ready for review and signature.
- The original desktop prototype retained purely for reference, with the application as the system of record.
