The challenge
Coaching admissions run on a small number of high-intent questions asked over and over, at hours when counsellors are teaching. Answering them wrongly is worse than not answering: fees, batch timings and scholarships are commitments, not marketing copy.
What we built
We built an assistant grounded in a single curated knowledge file that the institute edits directly — changes take effect immediately with no restart or code change. The assistant answers only from that file, captures email leads in conversation, and is explicitly instructed to route anything involving exact fees, timings, scholarship amounts or deadlines to a human counsellor.
Engineering highlights
- A plain-text knowledge file as the only permitted source of facts, editable by non-developers.
- Commitment-bearing details are deliberately out of scope and handed to a counsellor by design.
- Streaming responses so answers appear immediately rather than after a pause.
- Lead capture built into the conversation instead of a separate form.
- Companion Next.js site with dedicated landing pages targeting real local search intent.
